The hotel was designed by Alexander Vallaury, a French-Ottoman architect often called “the City Architect” of Istanbul. Located in the historic area of Pera, also known as Beyoglu, hotel opened its doors in 1895 and was immediately recognized as one of the outstanding buildings of Istanbul.
