    The Halal Tourism Roundtable took place on Monday 29th August, at The Media Rotana in Dubai, moderated by Rashi Sen, Editor.

    Some really interesting observations were made:

    1. The term 'halal' means different things to different people, meaning that halal travellers are not a homogenous mix.
    2. 70% of the panellists believe there is a need for global convention to come to
    an agreement on what constitutes halal and what does not.
    3. 90% believe there is a big gap in the halal cusine tourism sector.
    4. 80% believe there will be an increase in the percentage of halal business they recieve in the next five years.
    5. 60% agree that halal travel (excluding Hajj and Umrah) will reach $200 billion in the next five years.
